Monitoring Attendance and the Role of Agents
When a student’s attendance falls below a specified threshold in a Study Period, they will be issued an Attendance letter. As representatives, it’s vital that you assist parents in understanding this regulation.
Here’s how we ensure Satisfactory Attendance:
- Students are required to attend at least 80% of the scheduled contact hours for the course
- Absences are documented in the College database by the school offices.
- Late arrivals and early departures are recorded and factored into attendance calculations.
- If a student is enrolled only for a portion of the term, the calculation is adjusted accordingly.
- All absences should be substantiated by a Medical Certificate or an explanatory note from the student’s parent or principal carer, or evidence that leave has been approved by the Head of School or their delegate.
- Absences exceeding five (5) consecutive days without explanation will be subject to investigation.
Parents may require your assistance when they receive the Attendance letter. Therefore, please be prepared to provide the necessary support and guidance.
