Lesson 9, Topic 1
In Progress

Brainstorming Copy Copy

Brainstorming is a very important part of writing. In fact, the most important part of any writing is the pre-writing stage.

The pre-writing stage is when you:

  • think carefully about the question and what you need to do
  • think about all of your ideas and how you will organise them
  • think about how you will write your essay.

Here, we are learning about brainstorming.

The question we are brainstorming is:

Do mobile phones help students learn? Why?

Key Points

  1. Decide what you think. What is your answer to the question? ‘Yes’ or ‘No’?
  2. Brainstorm at least 4 ideas for an essay with 2 body paragraphs. This means that you have 2 backup ideas if your first ideas do not work
  3. Decide which 2 ideas are your best ideas to support your answer
  4. Decide which idea is the best and write about that idea first!
