The Focus of Study and Learning Experiences explains in detail the language learning and tasks of the Theme. These are divided into the 4 macro-skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) for ease of reference but the development of communicative competence is best achieved through an integrated approach to language learning.Â
The descriptions of the Focus of Study and Learning Experiences are broad enough to allow experienced teachers creativity, whilst being subscriptive enough to give sufficient guidance for new teachers. The teachers can choose the Focus of Study and Learning Experiences and Language and Skills that are relevant to the students’ needs. It is not a requirement to complete all the listed experiences.Â
