The John Paul International College curriculum is divided into 5 class levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5. Each class level is divided into Themes. Each Theme is described in more detail stating what students “will do” in the unit of study. This “will do” statement is the overarching context for the tasks and learning experiences of the Theme.
Each Theme has a Focus of Study and Learning Experiences, Language and Skills, Suggested Resources section. The Themes are completed in the order stipulated, as they progress in language difficulty and cognitive demand. However, the teachers can choose the Focus of Study and Learning Experiences and Language and Skills that are relevant to the students’ needs. It is not a requirement to complete all the listed experiences.
Throughout the High School Preparation Course, Themes and learning experiences are revisited and increase with difficulty to enable revision and improvement.
