Introduction and Welcome

Welcome from the Director of John Paul International College

Dear Students

As Director of John Paul International College, it is my great pleasure to welcome you.

We welcome students from many countries around the world and pride ourselves in preparing our young men and women for life in the global community. I speak on behalf of the whole College Family in saying we are happy you have made the decision to join us.

If you are starting in our JPIC International High School Preparation Program, it will help you to meet academic entry standards, develop study and cultural skills, and facilitate your successful entry to John Paul College mainstream classes or other schools in Australia. If you are starting in our Primary or Secondary Schools, you will begin your journey studying a vast range of subjects whilst being able to participate in many co-curricular opportunities.

Studying at John Paul College will ensure a smooth and successful transition to Diploma / Degree courses in Australian and international universities. It has been a privilege to witness many of our overseas students graduate to university and move on to successful careers around the globe.

To assist your studies and ensure your time with us is a happy one, our International Student Services Centre has multicultural, bi-lingual support staff available and can assist you with support services including health and wellbeing, pastoral care, medical insurance and enrolment questions. While academic success is vital, your personal welfare is just as important to us.

Many of you will live with a Homestay family and some of you will live in Boarding at Fenton Village. In partnership with the College, Homestay providers are responsible for your academic and co-curricular commitments and have become an integral part of our success, providing a safe and caring environment for you to learn and develop. Our Homestay families and Boarding Village staff open their hearts and homes to offer you a ‘home away from home’.

As one of Australia’s largest and most respected institutions, our College has been providing opportunities for international students studying in Australia for 30 years.

I invite you to contact us, at any time, to discuss how we can help you to make your experience at John Paul College a happy and successful one, and I look forward to watching you succeed at our College and advance your future career aspirations.

Yours sincerely

Mr Ferguson
